And you’ve proven your worth with above-average smarts. But your achievements are never enough…

At a certain point, you’ve had enough. 

You’re not a kid anymore, and you feel like you can’t continue on this path of disappointment.

After all, you’ve got BIG dreams. 

So you buckle down and get to work. 

You decide to finally make a real change. No more watching from the sidelines. It’s your turn to make headlines.  

And what happens? 

You start small. 

Little-by-little, inch-by-inch. Gradually building momentum… 

  • If you’re trying to start an online business, you build a website. 
  •  If you’re trying to meet more people, you block off time in your calendar for “socializing."
  •  If you’re trying to get a chest the size of Thor’s, you find a workout plan, and even create a spreadsheet to track your weights. 
And you start getting excited! 
You talk about your master plan with your friends and family, who give you a lovingly smile and a pat on the back.

But soon, you run into your first obstacle. 

Then another.  

And another. 

Your momentum slowly withers away into obscurity, along with your enthusiasm. 

“Doing the work” becomes harder and harder every day, as something more important seems to always get in the way. 

In short, you can’t follow through. 

All you’re left with is this blurred image of your “dream self” in your head… 

  • The self who ventures fearlessly into the unknown, with people and in business.  
  •  The self who lives with intention, free from anxiety and procrastination. 
  •  The self who’s focused on one mission, one vision, one purpose. 

Everytime you start a new project with the potential of bringing you closer to this “dream self,” you run into the same challenges. 

Listen. 

I know how this feels, because I’ve suffered through all of this before (on more than one occasion). 

And, more importantly, I’ve discovered it doesn’t have to be this way. 

In fact, with a few small changes, you can take your life to the next level. 

No more hoping and dreaming for more, stuck clicking through article after article. 

Instead, imagine living life with an unstoppable mindset that acts as your ally -- instead of your worst enemy -- as you relentlessly pursue your purpose. 

Imagine feeling the joy of knowing you’re living in congruence with your true self, where every day leaves you full and happy... 

...free from the mental residue of wondering what you “could” or “should” be doing with your limited time. ...

I’ve spent the majority of my adult life analyzing the transformational inner psychology experiences of the worlds best and brightest...
And during this process, I’ve discovered two critical myths that separate extraordinary people from ordinary people. 

Pay close attention to see if these sound familiar. 

And if they are familiar, keep reading to discover what you can do about it. 
Mistake #1: We Won’t Let Go of Our Big Bags of Shit
Before we go any further, I need another quick favor of you.

Here it is: 

Stop for a moment. 

Take a long, hard look at yourself. 

You’re looking for something very specific. 

Something that’s hard for you to see but easy for almost everyone else to see. 

It’s a Big Bag of Shit. 

Chances are very high you’re carrying one around. 

And everytime you encounter a situation in which you can possibly get more shit to put in the bag, you grab it and greedily stuff it inside. 

This shit is composed of lies. 

And the worst part about them is not that they are lies about ourselves, but that we actually believe them. 

Here’s what I mean: 

In your first seventeen years or so of life, you were brainwashed. 

Your parents, and other important figures in your early life, had certain beliefs, expectations, flaws, and methods of raising you. 

And because you grew up with them -- and much of the architecture of your brain was literally built through your interactions with them -- your childhood seemed completely normal at the time. 

But it wasn’t. And neither was mine. 

Because let’s face it, no one is perfect and no one is normal. 

We’re all uniquely flawed individuals. 

And so certain beliefs were hardwired into your brain. These beliefs are completely false. But, unless you recognize them and actively intervene... they get stronger every year. 

And almost everyone is walking around with them. 

They’re responsible for fights, failures, divorces, suicides, wars, and a whole lot of insecurity and disappointment. 

Here’s an example: 
Let’s say Mom or Dad -- or both -- rewarded you when you got good grades and punished you when you got bad grades. 

Consider the collateral damage of this type of child-rearing: You will start to think that your self-worth depends entirely on your accomplishments and performance.

So the belief it leads to will be: “I am not enough as I am.” And maybe even a corollary to that: “I need to achieve to be worthy of love.”

So in this particular example, here’s one way this Bag of Shit operates...

Someone may criticize something you did, and say you did it badly. And that may be true. But instead of hearing “You did that badly. You can do it better next time,” you hear “I am bad. I am a bad person.” 

And because the comment will feel hurtful instead of honest, and will trigger your own deep sense of shame, you will overreact far out of proportion to the comment. And that only strengthens the belief.

Now let’s flip this around: 
Let’s say your parents were very protective of you. 

To them, you were the greatest thing ever, no matter what you did. If you got bad grades, they marched right to that school and tried to get the teacher fired for being unfair to you.

What belief could this lead to?

“I can do no wrong.” And another possible result, “Whatever happens is somebody else’s fault.”

And so as an adult, you may charge through life, leaving a trail of blame in your wake. 

You’re always the victim of someone or something else. 

So if you slack off at work and get fired, the boss was a jerk. 

If you go out on a date and it doesn’t work out, the other person was a “tool” or a “bitch” or an “asshole” or “not good enough” for you.

If you haven’t figured it out yet, there are, broadly speaking, two types of shit that people are carrying around.

The first is negative beliefs about themselves:
  • “I am a bad person.”
  •  “My opinion doesn’t matter.”
  •  “I am not worthy of good things happening to me.”
  •  “If people knew the real me, they wouldn’t like me.

In short, they are any belief that makes you feel inferior to others.

The second category is negative or “entitled” beliefs about others. 

These include such unconscious thoughts as:

  • “I’m surrounded by idiots.”
  •  “No one is good enough for me.”
  •  “I deserve special treatment and privileges.”
  •  “The world would be a better place if [insert group of people] weren’t on it.”

In short, they are any beliefs that make you feel superior to others.

Regardless of which Bag of Shit you’re carrying around, they each share this commonality: these beliefs are false. 

Because let’s face it, we’re all equal and we’re all enough, just as we are. 

You see, the real tragedy of life is that people don’t get to enjoy it. 

Instead, they continue misinterpreting situations and think they’ve found more evidence to support the false conclusions they formed in childhood. 

And what’s the ultimate byproduct of these false beliefs? 

We live our lives, day in and day out, with the lingering idea that something is wrong with us. 

Which leads to the second crucial mistake that separates extraordinary people from ordinary people...  

Mistake #2: We’re Stuck In The First 3 Levels of Change
You’ll find out what I mean by “Levels of Change” in just a second. 

First, a short exercise…

You’re still reading this letter. 

This tells me three things about you. 
First: You resonate with some of what’s been said so far. 

Maybe you’ve started to identify which kind of Bag of Shit you’re lugging around every day. 

Second: You have, to some degree, what’s called a “Growth Mindset.” 

You’re open to new ideas, perspectives, and learning. 

Otherwise, you would have already clicked away from this page. 

Third: Because of your “Growth Mindset,” you’re a student of Personal Development. 

Like we agreed at the beginning of this letter, your present reality doesn’t match your high expectations. 

Because of this, you fight to improve yourself to close this gap.

Now, improving yourself is a great thing. 

But there’s just one problem.  

The techniques, tactics, routines, and tools you learn and implement when trying to improve yourself -- or your circumstances -- will yield little (if any) real results in your life. 

So, what happens?

Because the last technique, tactic, routine, or tool didn’t get you your desired change… you seek out the next technique, tactic, routine, or tool. 

And, again, you find yourself stuck, mentally masturbating on a self-help hamster wheel. 

Let’s talk about why this happens (and what you can do about it). 

Take a look at the diagram below: 

According to this model of neuro-linguistic programming, there are six levels at which we can learn and change. 

The outermost level is the easiest to change, and the innermost level is the hardest to change.  

Now, here’s the cool thing about these Levels of Change: 

If you change at the outermost level, generally little else changes. But if you change at the inner levels, everything outside changes as well. 

If your beliefs about yourself become more positive, then your capabilities will increase, your behaviors will shift, and you’ll surround yourself with more positive people.

Let’s face it: No one broke any Olympic records by believing, deep down, that they couldn’t do it.

Most people spend a lot of time trying to change their behaviors, because it seems quicker and seems more effective.

Changing beliefs, on the other hand, seems like a long, slow, and at times impossible process.

But let’s challenge that.

Look at The Game.

It seems easy to change behaviors.

For example: If you stand up straight when approaching, turn your body at a 45 degree angle, and rock on your back foot as if you’re about to leave, then you will have better results when you start a conversation with a stranger.

Most people can master that in no time at all.

But let’s not forget how MANY behavioral changes there were to learn to actually master The Game itself.

I spent some two years learning countless techniques, tactics, routines, and rules.

But what if, instead, I worked solely on my beliefs?

What would have happened then?

  • I wouldn’t have had to fake non-neediness, because I actually wouldn’t be needy.
  •  I wouldn’t have had to demonstrate value, because I’d be demonstrating value simply by existing.
  •  I wouldn’t have had to seek approval, because I’d approve of myself.
  •  I wouldn’t have had to try to be like someone else, because I’d know I was enough as I was.
  •  And I wouldn’t have been so fixated on every outcome, because I’d have a sense of abundance instead of scarcity in my life.
So I could have bypassed all those tactics and techniques completely, saving me two years of my life. 

Now, this example is about relationships. 

But the principle applies to whatever situation you find yourself in. 

Trying to grow your business? 

You can sell the best product and have the best team and rock the best marketing... 

...but you’ll undermine your own success if you believe, deep down, you’re going to inevitably run out of resources because of your scarcity mindset. 

Trying to get in better shape? 

You can go to the best gym and hire the best trainer and follow the best workout plan...

...but you’ll undermine your own success if you believe, deep down, you “can’t do it” because of a track-record of failed attempts in the past. 

Trying to write books, make music, or create art? 

You can follow the best creative schedule and use the best tools and model the best at your craft…
...but you’ll undermine your own success if you believe, deep down, that you’re not creative or nobody cares what you have to say. 

And the list goes on. 

Now, I know what you’re thinking. 

How do I find and change my own beliefs?” 

Doesn’t it seem dangerous to mess with my identity?” 

Even if you do become aware of harmful beliefs, then what?” 

Listen, you’re not the first person to ask these questions. 

And one reason extraordinary people become extraordinary is because they figured out how to answer these questions. 

Keep reading, and I’ll show you how you can answer them, too. 

What These Two Mistakes Mean For You...

Now we know the two critical mistakes we make when trying to make transformational changes in our lives. 

Changes with the power and potential to eliminate your cognitive dissonance so your reality finally matches your dreams -- in dating, in relationships, in careers, and, most importantly, in happiness and life satisfaction.  

Mistake #1: We won’t let go of our big Bags of Shit.

For better or for worse, we were brainwashed during the first 17 years or so of our lives. 

Certain beliefs were hardwired into your brain, and they are completely false. 

These beliefs force you to continue misinterpreting situations and prevent you from enjoying your life. 

Mistake #2: We’re stuck in the first 3 levels of change

So because of Mistake #1, we seek out ways to improve ourselves and our circumstances via personal development. 

But the techniques, tactics, routines, and tools simply lead us on a wild goose chase for the next insight, the next how-to, and the next breakthrough piece of advice. 

In reality, for monumental, life-changing, transformational results… you must focus on fixing your beliefs and identity. 

Everything else -- the books, the habits, the “expert advice” -- will only lead to disappointment.  

Here was the flash I finally realized.  

After uncovering these two mistakes, I began to notice a problematic pattern. 

Essentially, there are two ways you can try to deliberately shift your deep, unconscious beliefs to help make becoming your “dream self” effortless. 

The first way is by working one-on-one with a professional psychotherapist or master practitioner of neuro-linguistic programming. 

This approach is effective. And, if you stick with it for at least six weeks, you’ll more than likely start experiencing profound results in your life. 

The only problem, of course, is accessibility. Because I’m not talking about “life coaches” with internet certifications. 

I’m talking about real, trained, experienced masters of the unconscious mind -- who, more often than not, charge hundreds (or thousands) of dollars per hour. 

Which leads most people to the second most available method for achieving internal transformations: seminars. 

Because compared to a high-ticket Master Practitioner of NLP, seminars are much more affordable. But they’re “flash in the pan” solutions, that rarely result in long-lasting change. 

Think about it. 

Going to one of these seminars is a lot like making a new year resolutions -- each event produces a similar psychological impact. 

You’re excited at first. But, after a while, the excitement fades away and you’re back to your old self. 

In fact, I even began noticing this “fizzle-out” effect with my own seminars. 

I used to pull a little trick at my in-person events. 

I’d randomly choose one guy from the crowd, pull him aside, and take him to lunch. We’d have a one-on-one consultation, ranging from his style to the topics we’re talking about today. 

And I made each of these guys an offer: 

“Send me an email 90 days after taking and implementing this advice, and I’ll continue “virtually mentoring” you.

(Kind of like the opportunity you’re about to hear about, but nowhere near as comprehensive.) 

Can you guess how many of these guys took me up on this? 

Zero. 

You see, here’s the problem: 

Seminars, workshops, events, or one-time consultations don’t have the psychological capabilities of reprogramming your unconscious beliefs

The reality is this takes time and skilled guidance.

Which led me to think of the opportunity I’m sharing with you today.
